Hi Mathias, If you are feeling adventurous you can try out the "magnolia-davex-server" module I have created:
https://bitbucket.org/jaardvark/magnolia-module-davex-server/ The module allows you to access magnolia's repositories via RMI or DAVEX protocols. I have tested it with the Toromiro JCR client. It works well, DAVEX is very slow but RMI is fast. In other words, it does exactly what you (and some others on this list) have asked about: provide external access to the JCR repository(s) of a running magnolia instance. The code should not be considered quite "production ready", but feel free use it at your own risk.
