Oh, no, Bob, it is also certain that a genooine understanding of trig, calculus, counting numbers, engineering and computer science will require a foundational knowledge of infinity, for example, why 1+2+3+4+ ... = -1/12 ;-) Hardy saw this in the notes of Ramanujan (“The Man Who Knew Infinity” book and movie) and was convinced from this and other things that he was not a quack, but a genius. This and other wacky equations are used in physics (theoretical abstract?)
