It takes a while to accumulate a certain critical mass of info. You may
want to look at some old scripting conference stacks (from back when
LiveCode was named Revolution) which were created by some of our gurus
here to teach basic concepts in the right order:

We prepared these for newcomers and they assume no previous knowledge.
Start with the first, work through the first half or so in order, and
then you can skip around depending on what you want to know. It's
essential to understand the objects, the message hierarchy, and a few
other basic concepts, and that was the goal when preparing these.
