Thanks, but this did not work.


Only LC files have this problem, and that includes newly made ones. if I make, 
say, a new Excel file, it's desktop icon appears just fine.



I can manually set the icon of all my LC files in the "get info" palette, but 
this is a pain, and what means this anyway?

Wonder about Force-Quitting the Finder so that it rebuilds its icon 
database?
