So, to be clear about this. NO. You can't do that.
If you could set passwords then the encryption mechanism would be open
source and I would easily be able to see and defeat your passwords for
the same reason that you can't use a password-protected stack in the
OSS version. Transparency of the code.
Setting and using protected stacks is a feature of the commercial
version of LC and is explicitly not supported in the OSS version.

That's how it's supposed to work.
You can NOT use passwords to protect stacks in the OSS version.
