They don't need to make the statement: any stack compiled with the community edition is a derivative work and subject to the license of the code it is including (gpl, livecode). gcc has a specific exclusion releasing its generated code from the gpl; without this, all works compiled by it, by including its code, would be infected by its license. -- Dr. Richard E.
