So if you want your app in MAS then you can only put a free version on
Bodega.

Oh dear. I assume that's in the Bodega T&Cs?  I really hope that's not true
because I refuse to be told where I can and cannot sell my app.  I will
check into this further.

That's not Bodega's choice, that's an Apple restriction. If you want to have your app in the Mac app store, you gotta give 30% of ALL of your sales to Apple.

I've seen a few developers offer a "light" version in the Mac app store, with a "Pro" version at their web site.
