I think I am accurate saying this. The Open Source version of Livecode forked at 9.6.3, so anything added after that to the Retail version of Livecode is not guaranteed to be in Open Xtalk.
I tried it and it is indeed usable, but I made some pretty significant modifications specific to the Nested Datagrid Behaviors, and that feature was introduced AFTER the fork. Further, the alterations to the datagrid library that I used to make prior to it being included no longer worked, so I had to go back to Retail. So long as Create Classic runs my stacks with all the mad scientist stuff I have done, I personally can live with the licensing because I only develop for the company I work for. > On Jul 6, 2026, at 7:36 AM, jbv via use-livecode > <[email protected]> wrote: > > Hello Martin, > > Thank you for your long and detailed answer. > Actually, I'm not sure it fully answers my question. > To be more clear : according to the online doc, > - HyperXtalk supports commands such as "get URL" and "POST data to URL" > so sending cgi requests to a server seems to be possible > - however is building cross-platforms standalones really solid ? > > So back to my original question : has anyone tried to build standalones > in HyperXtalk that sends GET and POST requests to a server on which LC > server is running ? > > Thank you in advance. > jbv > > Le 2026-07-06 09:14, Martin Koob a écrit : >> Hi jbv >> I am not sure that this answers your question > > _______________________________________________ > use-livecode mailing list > [email protected] > Please visit this url to subscribe, unsubscribe and manage your subscription > preferences: > http://lists.runrev.com/mailman/listinfo/use-livecode _______________________________________________ use-livecode mailing list [email protected] Please visit this url to subscribe, unsubscribe and manage your subscription preferences: http://lists.runrev.com/mailman/listinfo/use-livecode
