I've been doing that for years as well with LC.
But my question was : has anyone done that with hyperxtalk ?

Been doing that for years from mobile apps. I use the on-rev hosting
and the response time is quite reasonable. I also request data from the
LC server for web pages using xhttp requests in javascript. The COORs
is a little tricky but once you get the headers correct it works like a
charm.
