I agree. And after finally cleaning up my icon mess just now I'd advise
people to NOT MAKE YOUR OWN LIB STACKS, *use the IDE* to import and export
icons to a library. Thanks to Time Machine.
I don't think image ID conflicts get resolved if you just import a bunch of
image files to a card, name the stack rev-something, and put it into the
Icon Libraries folder.
Richmond, thank you very much for creating these libraries, however I've
realized two things -
1. These libraries, especially the general collection, are HUGE. The load
time, even on my 12-core aluminum melting machine takes several seconds.
Yup; they played "Merry Hell" with my G4 macMini . . . :)
2. It's hard to find and compare icons to find the one you want -
collections and categories are disconnected. I might tend to make folders of
favorites in the native file system, then import to smaller, more specific
libraries.

You don;t need a script to do this. Just go to Development | Image Library,
then click on the New Library button and give it whatever name you want.
Then click Import File and in the resulting File Open dialog, you can
multi-select all the image files you need to import, click OK and the
images
will be imported into your library.

I am gently assembling a fairly large collection of image libraries by

But don't know how to export those image libraries so they are portable.
You've already figured this out, but for the record: icon libraries are
just one-card stacks with a bunch of images on the first card. If the
name
begins with "rev" and the stack is placed in your LiveCode library
folder,
then the Icon Library will load it.
The library path is inside the My LiveCode folder (or whichever folder
you've specified in prefs to hold your customization files,) in
Resources/Icon Libraries.
It isn't difficult to write a quick script that imports all the images in
a
folder to the first card. Then just name the library stack starting with
"rev", and pop it into that folder.
