I changed the HUD shortcut to Control L and you are right Pedro the
behavior is different than with Alt L set as the shortcut. Then I
discovered when changing the shortcut back to Alt L (my preference) that
the behavior had changed and was now similar to Control L. I believe this
is because the default shortcut is Alt L, whereas when you manually change
the shortcut it becomes Mod2+Control L or Mod2+Alt L. There appears to be
no way to revert to the default without using CCSM (which also lets you set
the shortcut simply to Control L).
