Alfredo mentioned, that the Gnome board usually works very slow and if we'd wait for them we would wait quite long since they have their own things to take care of and it might be long overdue our release of 15.10 before they respond. We would like to make it on time. It would also look very awkward when everyone talks about it, but no word is heard from us.
We talked about it and concluded, that there is not much for them to approve. They in fact can be glad, that we are no longer using their logo to represent ourselves, because the roundel was causing the headache and the new roundel eliminates all confusion when used as a standalone, which was the main goal of this project. In the end it is not for them to decide what we choose to use as our logo unless it is somehow in conflict, which it was until now, but not any more. The "GNOME" wordmark, that has been discussed is without a change and something they agreed on before. This change is primarily about the roundel with which we are doing them a favour. If you need to wait for a statement from Alfredo then all right, wait until tomorrow at least because he is travelling, but you'll hear the same from him.
