No problem.We're here to help. Have you given a try to the 32-bit image? Does this hardware work with an older version of Ubuntu.
Usually if the graphic mode doesn't work, recovery mode should work as expected, but you say that you see a black screen. I would say that much more work remains to be done on this video card driver to be properly supported out of the box. If we could identify the card PCI ID and driver (lspci -nnk) at least we can point this bug to the proper project. Until then, please keep up the testing and posting your findings on this bug.
