@RedSingularity: I can confirm Stevenson Dorastin's issue on my desktop hardware (Intel 945G/GZ). Your proposed workaround (metacity --replace & exit) fixes it for the moment. If necessary, I'll attach my logs (lspci, gdmlog, etc.).
