Yes, the attached archive contains two sets of logs, both without vga=799 or any other workaround in place. One has "quiet splash" appended to the boot line, which landed X on tty2 (as expected, and would likely crash eventually). The other has "plymouth:debug" appended to the boot line, which landed X on tty7 (and is generally more stable, rarely crashing--another near workaround). I've included udev, /proc/fb and any relevant X/gdm logs. Yes, with vga=799 I see a text-only splash. ** Attachment added: "bug-625239-logs.tar.gz" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers/+bug/625239/+attachment/1588876/+files/bug-625239-logs.tar.gz -- X starts on wrong tty because gdm starts before nvidia driver is ready https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/625239 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
