I guess Bryce means by "testing": testing with dev kernels proactively
:p End users test "current stable" kernels which are released, however
newer kernels still need to be tested before released because we'd never
know if there is regression or bugs due to new features :(
Any way we all know what each other needs. Hope that there is better
communication between kernel testing team who needs volunteers, and the
community where people expect working kernels.
