After upgrading to Xorg 1.7.5-1-i686 (Arch Linux) my system freezes in a different way. I can move only mouse cursor, but... I can switch to a terminal and kill Xorg :-) . And I don't get freeze after lid close anymore. After a freeze in logs I see many (I mean really a lot!) lines like:
