Andrea, 2.6.31 is the Karmic kernel. The libdrm package could hopefully fix (some of) the remaining freeze bugs in Lucid, but I don't have much hope for Karmic.
Actually, I would recommend people who experience frequent freezes on Karmic to upgrade to Lucid now.
