*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 419328 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/419328
Yeah, it's definitely not #466539. #419328 looks similar (the original description is very vague), but opening Display Preferences does not cause the crash. It's a different bug. This bug only freezes the system when I click "Apply" in Display Preferences after trying to change which monitor I'm using. Cycling monitor output with Fn + F5 will also cause a freeze. When frozen, I will get a black screen and (sometimes) an unresponsive mouse cursor. There's still hard drive activity and audio, but the freeze is fatal. It doesn't come up very often, it seems like it only causes a problem once you've switched back and forth between the external monitor and laptop's monitor a few times. I'm using an Acer Aspire One AOD250 netbook, GNOME, Ubuntu Karmic 9.10. -- [i945gme] Freeze when switching to an external monitor via hotkey https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/445229 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
