I noticed that there was an xserver-xorg-video-intel update yesterday. Today I booted with the standard kernel option (i.e. without "apci=off") and the laptop has been running for 8 hours without lockup. I'm running the standard kernel and xserver-xorg drivers. I recently removed most of the Xubuntu/xfce stuff because this machine is somewhat RAM-challenged (256MB) and I installed lxde and openbox instead.
I don't know if the different desktop environment would make any difference. Someone in another thread mentioned that no lockups occurred under IceWM, which is why I wonder if it might affect things. -- [i855] Xserver freezing on Toshiba Satellite A10 (Intel 82852/855GM) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/477256 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
