Hi, the way to "kill" (disable) the nvidia card is through a contributed kernel 
module:

I will check again if a BIOS update is available for my Asus UL50VT, but there 
was no option to change between cards or modes as your Lenovo has :(
The BIOS should have such an option, it is not like choosing at boot time or 
like switching it live, but will do the trick in the mean time.
