Ok, so I can't install the 173 drivers -- which would explain why jocky only gives me the option of the 185 drivers...
But the 190 drivers from the ppa mentioned at: http://www.ubuntugeek.com /howto-install-nvidia-190-25-beta-drivers-in-ubuntu- jauntyintrepidhardy.html are giving me more joy -- I left my machine for the day and came back to *no* graphics corruption (something new for my Karmic system). So perhaps the problem isn't compiz -- *perhaps* the problem is just simply badly QA'd proprietary drivers with no backup to previously known good drivers (ie, the 180 series). -- Compiz crashes after leaving a fullscreen application https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/438873 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
