You are of course right that there are some problems to overcome, and
that the conversation part is one of them. I don't imagine that any
solutions are going to be immediately apparent, which is why I hope that
someone will start thinking about it sooner rather than later.

Whether it's by introducing some random UUID based global OpenBugID to
easily cross-reference reports and open up for inter-tracker
conversations between cooperating bug tracker systems or some other
solution, I don't know, but it seems a bit early to dismiss the
possibility solely on the grounds that a conversation is needed.

You have a point that it's a good idea to use this place as a funnel to
redirect reports to their proper home. However, designing the process in
that way, so that it will likely involve more than one tracker, sounds
like even more of a reason to start thinking about a protocol for deep
inter-tracker cooperation.

I think it's in my and every other reporter's interest, as well as yours
in order to minimize discouragement, so I feel some responsibility to at
least mention it.
