yes this seems to be a problem with having 2 monitors on the nvidia card, as once I disconnect the second monitor as per topdownjimmy's suggestion, live cd boots fine. Still have not been able to get a log of when things are failing, but have attached log from booting with just 1 monitor connected. ** Attachment added: "Xorg log booting with 1 monitor only" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/33776602/Xorg.0.1monitor.log ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 43710 nvidia card: hangs on start gdm if a second monitor on DVI-I is present ** Summary changed: - Karmic livecd wont boot due to graphics card not working with opensource nvidia drivers + Karmic livecd wont boot due to graphics card not working with opensource nvidia drivers when 2 monitors are connected. -- Karmic livecd wont boot due to graphics card not working with opensource nvidia drivers when 2 monitors are connected. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/433925 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nv in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
