The problem is also present if I try the live cd (i386) on a Dell Mini
Inspiron 9 but with a variant, during the boot I see the Kubuntu logo
(usplash or xplash?) but after I not see the login screen but a black
screen with in the middle the mouse pointer frozen.

I think this is not only nVidia problem because the Dell Mini has a
Intel vga card.
