Video card is Matrox G450 and after upgrade from 9.04 to 9.10 beta.
After Grub screen immediately goes to text mode (no splash screen) and
after a few entries monitor start flashing and then text login prompt
appears. Unable to enter username although occasional keyboard entries
are accepted.
Attempted DVI and Analogue connections to monitor (video card and
monitor supports both) - same problem
Removed video card and used on-board video (Intel) controller. Problem
resolved although a few text entries in very small text appeared before
splash screen.
