Installed the 301.132-ubuntu2 release from Zesty on Mom's computer. That does indeed allow the module to load, but puts you right back at the GLX error.
Removed the nvidia-304 package and thankfully, nouveau seems to have improved somewhat and now works for her. Have enclosed error log, although it should probably go in another bug. ** Attachment added: "glx-error.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-304/+bug/1634802/+attachment/4780156/+files/glx-error.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-304 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1634802 Title: Could not insert module To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-304/+bug/1634802/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
