I'm still seeing issues on 14.04. I have the latest kernel - 3.16.0-38-generic
Symptoms are the same as before: Use sna in the X11 conf. Attach an external monitor. Run for a while and you'll see characters start disappearing and title bars corrupted. Opening google earth seems to make things go bad pretty quick. uxa is still a work around.
