I have a ATI Radeon HD 5450, and a newly installed, fully updated xubuntu 11.10. I cannot get dual monitors to work after installing the proprietary driver. I've tried running the amdcccle program 1. From the menu, administrative mode: nothing happens at all (non-admin mode does run). 2. From the terminal, using both sudo and gksu: after any change at all, hitting "apply" causes program to disappear, with no output. 3. From Alt-F2, using gksu: same as from terminal. Using sudo, nothing happens, as expected since it can't prompt for the password.
I had the same problems with lubuntu, if I remember correctly. I do think it worked with Ubuntu, but I stopped using the driver because it caused shutdown failures 90% of the time. It seemed to be OK in the 12.04 beta, though, with my limited experience so far. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/647802 Title: amdcccle crashed with SIGSEGV To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/647802/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
