@jose, I tried it with your instructions, but some remarks:
1. should this also allow this, then for desktop effects to be enabled? 2. I think the correct command for step 2 is sudo X -configure :1 with configure only I got errors 3. I had now old xorg.conf, and typing now, also without xorg.conf 4.
