Hi Bryce, I stopped trying to use gnome shell not long after reporting the bug; partly because it just wasn't working, but mostly because I've been happy with Unity and haven't felt the urge to play with other desktops lately. However, there are plenty of comments from people other than myself, so I suspect the issue is ongoing.
