My travelling machine is a Lenovo Thinkpad Edge 11 bought cheap as a
stopgap machine a couple of years ago and it's been very good for that. I
replaced the HD with a cheap SSD to save power and it's good for four or
five hours on wifi and two or three on a 3G dongle. There's a small
niggling fault with the mousepad that I have never been able to get to the
bottom of but it's a nice little netbook for working in the pub :).
