Has anyone any experience of running Ubuntu on laptops from PC

They will supply without Windows with a reduction of £80.
I believe they are based on Clevo laptops.
Not based on, they _are_ Clevo laptops.
The first thing that leaps off the screen at me is that genesisIV has an
nVidia 'Optimus' video card.

"nVidia's official position is that they have no plans to support
Optimus on Linux - our graphics stack is engineered with an assumption
that only one card is driving a given display, and it's not easy to work
around."
Personally I'd avoid it and get something like a Lenovo.
