I think it is easy for the workspace switcher to be seen by a *novice* as an item which in their mind, adds uncertainty or complication and might be a negative factor in a brief demo. For many years windows novices have been told, whenever 'Linux' is mentioned, that Linux is only for geeks, not for others like them. I get this repeated to me literally whenever I ask in retail outlets or ask any random windows self made expert.
