When installing Ubuntu inside a VM (VMWare or VirtualBox) what keyboard do I need to select for a MacBook Pro with a UK Keyboards.
On the mac I need to type alt+3 for a # to appear. But I can't work out what keyboard combination I need to enter when using Ubuntu within a Virtual Machine. I've tried 'United Kingdom - Macintosh' and United Kingdom - Macintosh (International)' and think I've tried every key with all types of combination of shift, ctrl, cmd, alt... but I can't work it out. I've also tried 'Detect Keyboards Layout' which does work for normal standard keys but still won't let me enter #. Cheers for any and all help, my current work around is using copy & paste.
