Having thought about this some more I have decided on the SheevaPlug
route.  Though I think I could do it with the wrt54 it would not be
able to do much more.  If I get the Sheeva then it will have the
capability of doing much more, and I am sure I will have no difficulty
thinking of things to do with it.
