What about this? Would it work? * Right click on the network manager icon before any connection is attempted, * Select Edit Connections * Select Wireless * Click Add * Manually configure your connection: * SSID * IPv4 Settings set to manual with fixed IP * Security settings as per the router's defaults * Save it * Connect * Configure the router * Once configured, go back to connection settings and delete the manually configured connection * Re-connect the normal way And in theory, no reboot required! I know it works with a wired connection but I've never actually tried with a wireless one as I haven't configured a router from scratch in a long time.
