Hi Laura,

Thank you for raising your thoughts. I entirely agree that the most recent
meeting was a little bit of a shamble. Traditionally meeting's haven't been
like this, and the recent one was an example of the issues you have raised. We
are now getting back into the swing of having meetings following a long hiatus,
so some teething issues are expected. Raising concerns and suggestions like
this is entirely the best way to improve them, rather than tagging them within
the meeting.

I feel some of the social issues of the last meeting is related to some recent
disagreement on topics that should not be discussed in the channel, or even the
#*ubuntu* channel namespace.

I'm not sure i agree with the "FINISH" proposal. In my opinion, the issue of
finishing a point is often caused when a new topic is being raised and the
person who added it to the agenda is explaining it. I do not feel it's
unreasonable to expect that person to already have the introduction to their
point ready for a copy and paste moment. This could, but doesn't need to span
multiple lines, and ensures the full issue is conveyed without interruption and
the direction of the point being lost being it is conveyed. In many instances,
the chair should be aware they are empowered to keep the discussion on track.

One thing that needs to be improved is keeping it punctual. Keeping the meeting
snappy, and covering as much as possible. I would encourage a reasonably hard
limit of 1 hour per meeting, and if the meeting requires more time - either
continuing on the mailing list or scheduling a meeting sooner than normal.

It was actually my idea to have different chairs for the meeting, I thought it
would be an excellent way for members of the LoCo to contribute in the
organisation of the team - and I still believe this to be the case. I feel at
the end of each meeting, people should nominate themselves or proposed and the
people attending the meeting decide who to chair the following meeting.

Kind Regards,
Dave Walker
