Aloha, I'm in the Ubuntu-uk channel always and I love the channel and find for most of the time it to be a very enjoyable place to hang out, chat to people and get help. However, when it comes to your IRC meetings, it's like the cages are unleashed and politeness and manners that I see everyday in your channel vanish.
Firstly, if someone is explaining a topic, please have the manners and decency to let them finish explaining what they are trying to tell you. I know it may be hard to tell when they finish, but it makes it harder to get to the point if you keep interjecting. Perhaps the person explaining can say FINISH at the end of their topic information. Secondly, if the topic has been finished and you feel you're not finished talking about it, but the chair has moved the topic on. PLEASE understand it's not helpful to continue the discussion, take it to the mailing list or bring it up on AOB. Finally, I think the -uk folks would benefit from a set chair. Mez did a great job and I'm sure Djones will also. But to give the chair experience and confidence in telling folks to quite frankly shut up and stop interrupting, I think it would be beneficial to have a permanent chair. Still rotate it, but perhaps on a 3 month rotation. Just my 2 cents.
