Actually the modem thinks that the router is the PC. It shouldn't make any difference which machine connects to the router as long as the router hasn't got anything like MAC address filtering enabled (which as far as I know generally only affects machines connecting wirelessly anyway). > TIA > Dianne > I'd forgotten how slooowwww some OS's can be! > Once the modem is activated it should just work. Generally you have to turn the modem and router off, turn the modem on, leave it 30 seconds to sync and then turn the router on. If you go into System -> Administration -> Network and unlock the settings what do you get under Wired Connection? Mine has Roaming Mode disabled and it's set to Automatic Configuration (DHCP).
