On the error message that pops up there is a command that needs to be run as sudo. I'm not at a buntu machie at the mo so I can't get the exact message but it's something like /etc/init.d/vbox drvseup.
That will compile the kernel modules for you and should get vbox working - double check as well that your user had been added to the vbox group
