That's a good suggestion and I'd be interested to know whether it worked. I'm the creator of Ubuntu Satanic Edition and if it's causing problems on people's notebooks I'd like to know about it. All I can think of is that the gnome theme uses the Aurora GTK engine: http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Aurora+Gtk+Engine?content=56438 This is a fairly heavyweight theme engine and *maybe* this is the issue. However, it's the first I've heard of any such thing.
