Hi Jen I suspect this is probably a (somewhat) known issue, but your input is always welcomed, so pop down to https://launchpad.net/ubuntu and report your findings there. You might also find it helpful to run "nvidia-settings", and "compiz-config" on your end, and see if there are any options you can change to find the neutral ground between nvidia and compiz. I had a nvidia card on my old machine running beryl ( a compiz spin-off ) and there was an option somewhere that fixed a lot of issues. I cant remember what the option was called, but i remember choosing "copy" as the answer!
