Norman There is a lot of good advice here but I think some clarification might help: Is it the case that: Your new PC has Ubuntu and sata Hard Disk Drive (HDD) interface only with cd connected to IDE interface? Your old drive which you wish to install has XP on it and an IDE interface. ??
