The CoC amendment seems to be aimed at discouraging anything not FLOSS related from entering the conversation. Which in my view is a direct Breach to the overall CoC "Be Respectful"
*Be respectful.* The Ubuntu community and its members treat one another with respect. Everyone can make a valuable contribution to Ubuntu. We may not always agree, but disagreement is no excuse for poor behaviour and poor manners. We might all experience some frustration now and then, but we cannot allow that frustration to turn into a personal attack. It's important to remember that a community where people feel uncomfortable or threatened is not a productive one. We expect members of the Ubuntu community to be respectful when dealing with other contributors as well as with people outside the Ubuntu project, and with users of Ubuntu. I do agree that the main Planet.ubuntu.com is a place of considerate conversations related to articles of Ubuntu in nature however I dont agree and will be quite strong in my views about the idea that the Loco teams should be restrictive in content. If a member were to join and not contribute then I feel there would be a reasonable expectation to ask that member to not spam us but if a member has joined and is contributing and their blog contains what to some are perceived as adverts of a commercial nature then we should be respectful of their position. If there are "anonymous complaints" then I am concerned that the number of maintainers of the planet if not wide enough to encompass a fair and considered view. Further we cannot judge anyone on the list or web as being in alignment to the one complaint. There may be an equal number of potential viewers who seeing the "commercial content" decide to approach the member in question for those services. Its just wrong and wrong and wrong again that we should try to implement this; its just not Ubuntu The CoC and any variation of it though should be no excuse to censor, mitigate or control the output of any member.
