Hi Gema, there is on Facebook a subtle but important difference between open, private & hidden. A private group is advertised to all, but requires acceptance to join. The reason I chose private is that it does reduce the attacks by spammers. As we all have better things to do than run around cleaning up after spammers, that is why I chose private.
I'm no FB expert and simply based things on an existing and quietly successful FB group [1].
