Hi Dave.

I also think you should really reflash your device and start over.
Libertine is already on the M10 so you probably broke something while apt-geting and trying to install libertine while it was already there.

I'd recommend creating separate chroot on the device with the new system and using apt-get inside that chroot. It will even enable you to have that chroot on your external drive giving you a lots of space and it won't corrupt your main system.

This [1] how-to have necessary instruction to give you idea about separate chroot.

Regards,
Filip Dorosz

I'm on the edge of losing it

Cannot log in from touchpad or get another job logged in. Fortunately
I have an ssh window open already.

Things went bad after I ran the instructions:

        # cd ~/.local/share/libertine
        # rm ContainersConfig.json
        # cp
/custom/click/.click/users/@all/com.ubuntu.puritine/libertine-config/libertine/ContainersConfig.json
 .

        Create a new container
        # libertine-container-manager create -i puritine2 -n "Puritine 2" -t
chroot -d vivid --force
