Hi Dave.
I also think you should really reflash your device and start over.
Libertine is already on the M10 so you probably broke something while
apt-geting and trying to install libertine while it was already there.
I'd recommend creating separate chroot on the device with the new system
and using apt-get inside that chroot. It will even enable you to have
that chroot on your external drive giving you a lots of space and it
won't corrupt your main system.
This [1] how-to have necessary instruction to give you idea about
separate chroot.
