I have had the same problem months ago and I found out it was a problem
with the SD card ... since i changed it, it works perfectly

Yes. I tried to uninstall and reinstall. Same issue; tried also with
latest 3.0.0.583
I managed to make camera-app to work.
I uninstalled it. Then under Privacy settings noted an unchecked item
with no icon under Camera, along with checked ones (Tagger and Level)
with normal icon.
Checked it, then installed camera app.
