Full ACK! There were reasons why Debian switched to the 1.3 series in 
the past and these may be the same reasons why upstream hasn't touched 
the 1.2 series anymore within the last 3 years. Re-introducing the 
deprecated packages is not an option to me. Instead we should try to 
get the 1.3 series stable ASAP.
