Hi, In the past I used Gentoo to develop software and create packages. I used Debian and Ubuntu only as from the users point of view. I've never created any packages for Ubuntu. Now I tried it the first time for a software where I'm the linux maintainer and developer:
http://www.makehuman.org/ The Gentoo package creation isn't a problem. Currently there's not yet a source package released. So I work with the CVS checkout. I followed these docs: http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Paketbau http://www.linux-magazin.de/Artikel/ausgabe/2002/11/pakete/pakete.html (both german!) What I got as result is this: drwxr-xr-x 9 andreas andreas 1,4K 2006-11-06 22:47 animorph-0.2 -rw-r--r-- 1 andreas andreas 7,7K 2006-11-06 22:46 animorph_0.2-1.diff.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 andreas andreas 350 2006-11-06 22:46 animorph_0.2-1.dsc -rw-r--r-- 1 andreas andreas 902 2006-11-06 22:47 animorph_0.2-1_i386.changes -rw-r--r-- 1 andreas andreas 4,4M 2006-11-06 22:46 animorph_0.2.orig.tar.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 andreas andreas 1,4K 2006-11-06 22:47 animorph1_0.2-1_i386.deb -rw-r--r-- 1 andreas andreas 2,1K 2006-11-06 22:47 animorph-dev_0.2-1_i386.deb The deb files are a little small. If I look into the deb, only the docs are included. 1. Which information should I provide that someone is able to help me? 2. Is there anyone who think MakeHuman is a cool app and like to maintain the Ubuntu packages? :-) regards Andreas -- Ubuntu-motu mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-motu
